Everyone wants to emerge as a topper but there may be a chance where you do not get selected in your placement process or perhaps your college/University is not visited by Google. If you are one of those people, don’t be disheartened. You can apply for Google Jobs directly as well.

The Interview process will slightly differ than the one mentioned above. Let me tell you how.

Once you’ve applied for the profile, the Google Hiring team will scan through your CV from a million of applicants. If your profile gets shortlisted, you’re lucky and talented indeed!

Now you’d be hearing from the team via call or email and your interview may be scheduled two ways:

1. Telephonic or Hangouts Interview

Technical Round

Here the concerned person will ask you an open-ended question.

You’ll have to devise a strategy to find the appropriate solution.

Next step would involve the most basic thing you love to do i.e., code.

Now you don’t have to create a fully functional code because of time limit but one that should work just fine and cover the major aspects of the given problem.

2. On Site Interview

Once you’re in the Google Premises, you will be meeting a panel of Judges (mostly 4) who are expert in their domains. Now comes the toughest part! They can ask you any question here which can vary from a simple query to a complex algorithm.

Likewise, you better be prepared!

Apart from this, the general factors they’d test in you are mentioned below:

  • General Cognitive Ability
  • Domain Expertise
  • Leadership Skills
  • Flexibility

As a general rule of thumb, you should be well prepared for being cross-questioned as well and keep calm while getting interviewed. Additionally, keep a tab on other available roles with Google that you might be interested in and showcase your skills with live examples of what you’ve done and achieved so far.
